After a week of our family dealing with the stomach flu, Matt was finally able to get back to working on the house.

The guys attached new bracing to the underside of the second-story floor, “tying” the joists together.

Then they started framing for the walls/stairs/under-stair closet!

Framing is always an exciting step. It progresses quickly and only takes a few boards to indicate the shape of the space.

The guys ran out of 2x4s after putting down the base of the wall in the foreground, and had to stop there for the day.

Matt finished the wall framing on a later day, after making a trip to Menards for more framing lumber.

Suddenly it starts to feel like rooms!
