The GoFundMe allowed us to hire a drywall crew–saving us months of Saturdays of doing it ourself.

The house feels very different!

The hanging crew had everything hung within a week; now we are waiting on the finishing crew to find space in their schedule to tape and mud.

One of the big kids said, on seeing the drywall, “I feel sad…all that work we put into the electrical, and now it’s covered up!”

As we wait, Matt continues to work on odds and ends that don’t require the drywall to be finished–HVAC, attic electrical, etc, and Esther is making final design decisions for the finishing stages.

The change of pace has been nice, allowing us a breather after putting every spare ounce of energy into getting the house prepped for drywall installation.

We’re starting to be able to envision what our home will be like. Excitement is mounting for painting!
