Initially we hoped the drywall crew would take two weeks. The reality has been a bit slower.

But, they do seem to be doing a nice job, and paying extra attention to trouble spots.

The work for us has slowed to miscellaneous things on Matt’s to-do list, like plumbing hookups for the new half-bath,

getting the septic pumped,

and installing a gutter on the west, high side of the house.

For me (Esther), it has been a bit of a welcome break in house focus, just in time to switch to prepping for the kids to go back to school, finalize plans for the cosmetic stage of house work, and launch a freelance editing/writing/coaching business to help fund all this house work.

[Speaking of funding, the goFundMe carried us through all the house expenses to date, including much of the drywall crew cost. We are so grateful for you all making that possible.]

But, the miscellaneous to-dos have run out, the itch to make progress again is building, and hopefully (hopefully!) the drywall crew will finish this week.

Then it’ll be pedal to the metal. How are you at painting?
