First Paint

The window frame in my office had the auspicious honor of being the first object in the house to receive fresh paint.

It was pretty grungy. I sanded and cleaned it up, removing random leftover hardware and filling holes and cracks.

While I did that, Matt cleaned the excess drywall mud out of the receptacle boxes in preparation for wiring outlets in my office.

When I was ready, Matt talked me through my painting process, reviewing skills I hadn’t used for about three years.

I started painting…and quickly found how tedious painting window frames can be. Sigh.

While I slaved away with a paintbrush, Matt sanded drywall repairs

And primed them.

The window took two coats of paint/two days to complete.

It’s an old window, and no amount of paint will change that. But it looked so much fresher and cleaner when it was done!
